Esports Will Be A Big Part Of Caesars’ Newly Launched Production Studio In Las Vegas

Caesars esports studio
Esports will be a major component of a production studio just launched by Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas.

And one of the first events at the newly opened facility was an esports event for Gears of War.

More about the Caesars studio

Caesars Entertainment Studios announced the opening of the new studio, in partnership with Sidekick Productions. It will offer “the newest, most advanced production facility capable of housing full-scale television, movie and eSports production,” according to a press release.

The facility has 48,000 square feet of production space and is located adjacent to Bally’s Las Vegas.

“Given our long-standing relationship with the entertainment industry, the studio’s close proximity to the famed Las Vegas strip, as well as its state-of-the-art infrastructure, the opportunity to open Caesars Entertainment Studios makes perfect business sense,” said Jason Gastwirth, senior vice president of marketing and entertainment for Caesars Entertainment Corporation.

“We saw an opportunity to do something that’s never been done in Nevada, and we’re confident that production companies will see the value our space provides. We’re already seeing a return as ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ has started utilizing the studio for its latest production.”

Caesars properties have appeared in many movies over the years:

  • The Hangover trilogy
  • Jason Bourne
  • Rain Man
  • Iron Man

The Nevada state legislature recently passed a bill offering $10 million a year in film tax credits. That should benefit any company using the new studio.

The esports connection

In its press release, Caesars noted that the studio just hosted an esports event before the official announcement on its launch.

CES held the inaugural Gears Pro Circuit Las Vegas Open for Xbox. Teams from around the world took part in a competition based on “Gears of War 4,” published by Microsoft.

About a thousand fans were on hand to watch the action live in the studio.

Vegas continues to work toward becoming an esports hub

The inclusion of esports as a major part of the studio is the latest sign that Nevada and Las Vegas are committing more resources to becoming the “esports capital of the world.”

The new Caesars studio catering to esports is just another example of Vegas looking for opportunities to highlight the growing industry.
